ABOUT THE LIBRARY Rayburn College Library is the heart of self education for the students, teachers and staff of the College. It is also a Referral Library of all the staff and students. The Library is on the verge of reaching the climax stage of development since it’s the inception in 1994. It has been playing a vital role in preservation and conservation of the documents pertinent with the Rayburn Institution community.

The library has a collection of more than 8000 books and subscribes to more than 30 printed journals and magazines. The library provides almost all the services which are commonly provided by most college library. Some additional services/facilities given by the library are:

• To enable the readers to select their desired books direct from shelf the library follows open access system.

• Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) is available for checking books available in the library (under process).

• The library is incorporated with internet facilities (currently restricted to staff members only).

Rayburn College Library is under process of library automation and networking.The library automation has been undertaken using SOUL 2.0 designed and developed by the INFLIBNET (an autonomous Inter-University Centre of the University Grants Commission (UGC) of India). In regards to classification of books, the library follows DDC 23rd latest Edition.

The Library has a collection of documents or books under different category: i) Reference Books (for consultation purpose only), ii) Curriculum related Books( for issuing) iii) General Collections iv) Serials (Magazines, Journals, Daily Newspaper (inclusive of Local, Regional and National Publications) and v) Project report documents of different disciplinary subjects.

The library remains open from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on all working days. In an average there are more than 100 visitors accessing the library resource daily. The Library has been undertaken by three staff member who are designated as Librarian and two Library Assistant. In pertaining to the Library matters, the institute has Library committee appointed by the Principal. Thus, the main motive of the library is to maintain an amicable learning environment and to provide right books or right information to the right users at the right time.
